Kure Field Camp Manager

Cynthia is the supervisor for Kure Atoll Biological Field Station. She has led restoration and seabird protection efforts on Kure Atoll since 2002. She has planned, executed and managed ecological restoration projects funded by both private and federal agencies. She created and published the most comprehensive quarantine protocols in the Northwestern Hawaiian Islands. She partners with USFWS, NOAA and outside researchers to monitor seabirds, spinner dolphins and monk seals. Her knowledge, skills and passion have led to positive changes to the ecological health of Kure Atoll.
